STANTON, Calif. – (September 15, 2014) – On Monday, September 15, 2014, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a bank robbery at the Bank of the West branch located at 11051 Beach Boulevard, Stanton. The robbery suspect, Danny Ray Worrell, 62, Stanton, threatened the bank teller with a note indicating he was armed with a gun and explosives. The loss from the bank was cash and the suspect was seen leaving in a maroon Chevrolet corvette.
On August 7th the “Quad Bandit” was taken into custody after robbing a bank in Brea. The robber, who received his nickname after attempting to rob four banks in one day, surrendered to Fullerton police after Brea officers responded to reports of a robbery at Bank of the West and broadcast to neighboring departments. The Bank Robbery Apprehension Team (BRAT) has been investigating the Quad Bandit for several months regarding a number of other robberies in the Orange County area and is pursuing federal charges.
