The High-Tech Services Reserve Unit provides highly trained experts in the field of photography, video technology, and computer technologies. These dedicated reserve deputy sheriff's are called upon to document natural disasters such as floods, forest fires, etc. They are also used in public relations and for many Orange County Sheriff's special events.
The video team provides training tapes, public service announcements, and related services. The Unit has graphic artist sand reprographic members who assist the Reserve Division in providing documents, programs, and related specialized publications.
In addition to these services many of the Unit members are called upon to perform patrol duties in emergency conditions and during peak man-hour usage during the holidays and the Orange County Fair, if they pursue additional required training by California Peace Officers Standards and Training.
