Eagle Scout Candidate Recognized for Memorial Project

Eagle Scout candidate Ethan Bolin was recognized by Sheriff Hutchens and members of the OCSD Command Staff for his hard work in creating a memorial to Orange County's first fallen officer, Undersheriff Robert Squires.

The memorial was created earlier this year as Ethan's Eagle Scout service project.  It is located on Loma Ridge and consists of a bench and plaque that tells the heroic story of the Undersheriff. Ethan wanted a place were people could come and reflect on the great sacrifices that our fallen heroes have paid.

Ethan underwent years of preparation for this monument, demonstrating great leadership and organizational ability during the planning and completion of the project. He has three more badges to obtain before he will qualify for the Eagle Scout status, and hopes to finish them this summer.
