The Laguna Hills City Council recently honored OCSD Deputies David Gregor and Erik Tilove, CSO Matthew Padilla, and two civilians, for their heroic actions in saving a man’s life.
On May 16th Robert Hall was driving in the area of Moulton Pkwy. And Glenwood Drive when he went into cardiac arrest, crashing his car. Two civilians, Kristen Hauptmeier, a former nurse, and Joshua Austin, a former boy scout/lifeguard, stopped to aid the victim and performed CPR before our deputies and CSO arrived. The deputies continued CPR and shocked Mr. Hall with a defibrillator until a faint pulse was detected. He was rushed to the hospital and put in a medically induced coma until he awoke three days later. Mr. Hall is now home and is expected to fully recovery.
Mr. Hall was at the City Council meeting when these heroes were honored, saying that he is “forever grateful” to those who helped him in his time of need.
